Clear Braces in Mechanicsburg
Less Noticeable Than Metal Braces
The Alba Orthodontics team is proud to offer clear braces to our patients in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Also known as ceramic braces, tooth-colored braces, or aesthetic braces, these work just like metal braces, with the added benefit of being much less noticeable in your mouth.
Blend in With Damon Clear Braces
Dr. Jeff Alba and Dr. Fred Alba use Damon clear braces, so you can enjoy incredibly comfortable and efficient treatment on top of the other benefits of clear braces.
When you come to Alba Orthodontics for your clear braces treatment, you’ll enjoy our Damon clear braces, an exceptionally comfortable and efficient treatment option. These self-ligating braces put continuous pressure on your teeth to move them gently, with greater control and less force than traditional options.
The brackets are also smaller than more traditional options, so they cause less irritation in your mouth.
Many adults and teens find Damon clear braces appealing because the clear brackets are a less visible option that can still reduce your treatment time.
Ceramic braces are perfect if you want an aesthetic treatment option but don't want the extra hassle of removable aligners and the responsibility of wear time.
These ceramic options blend in well with your natural smile. Though they're not completely invisible, and the brackets are about the same size and shape, they’re much less noticeable than metal braces.
The Differences Between Clear & Metal Braces
Metal braces are known for their durability and strength. Clear braces are also tough, but they are made from a different, more fragile material that is more likely to chip or crack. Traditional braces are also better at tolerating pressure than newer ceramic ones.
If you need more drastic corrections, Dr. Fred or Dr. Jeff may determine metal braces could be a better option. Adjustments with ceramic braces have to be slightly smaller, so it can take a little more time to align your teeth.
Having said that, both types of braces work on the same principles and tend to be equally as effective in most cases.
While you may have heard that clear braces stain, the brackets will not. Elastics and ties can give the appearance of staining, but this isn’t a problem with the Damon clear braces we use at Alba Orthodontics.
Cost of Ceramic Braces
One of the biggest factors that affect your treatment cost will be the materials used to make your braces.
In our Mechanicsburg office, ceramic brackets tend cost a little more than metal brackets.
The good news is, we offer flexible payment plans, automatic bank drafts, and we will also check with your insurance company for orthodontic benefits. Our goal is to provide outstanding value for reasonable fees!
Treatment fees will vary depending on the complexity of your orthodontic treatment. Dr. Alba will determine a treatment fee that fits your specific orthodontic needs. Our office will do everything we can to accommodate you and your budget.
The work it takes to put your braces on, adjust them, and take them off must also be factored into the total treatment cost. Placing and removing ceramic braces are more sensitive to technique and requires more time.
Our treatment coordinators will be happy to go over the cost with you during your first free consultation.
At Alba Orthodontics, we take pride in making the process of straightening your teeth as comfortable as possible.
Gone are the days of painful headgear, clunky bands on every tooth, and overly tight stainless steel wires. Today's orthodontic treatment is much more comfortable than it used to be. This is because of shape-memory NiTi wires.
These advanced wires paired with the smaller and sleeker brackets in the Damon braces system mean you’ll spend less time in braces, and the time you do spend will be more comfortable.
TADS, or mini-implants, also help your teeth and jaws move in the right direction quickly and efficiently. We focus on giving you a better experience and better results.
